We woke again to rain on the roof but by the time we left the B&B the skies were clear and the sun was out. I took the opportunity while waiting for our flight to edit some of my blogs, hmmm, I need to proof read some more before publishing, Ha.

Anyway, we arrived in Iceland a bit before 4pm and the first thing that hit you as we left the airport was the cold. Apparently it’s only a few degrees cooler than Amsterdam but it feels much colder. I’m glad I bought my jacket yesterday.

The bus trip from the airport into Reykjavík took about an hour. We were dropped off at our stop which was a short walk up a hill to our hotel. We are staying at the Hotel Fron and our room is quite spacious and very nice. It’s also in a great location in the centre of the city. One thing we did notice at check in was the northern light tours were cancelled tonight due to unfavourable weather conditions so let’s hope we get some clear skies tomorrow, fingers crossed!

We dined at Harry’s seafood and grill restaurant and the food was very delicious or mjog gott as they say here in Iceland. The lamb tenderloin was superb and there is a good chance we may dine here again before we head off in a few days time.

After dinner we wandered the streets around our hotel and found the Hallgrimskirkja Church at the top of hill. It’s very impressive and we will explore it later in our trip.

We are very happy to be in Iceland and looking forward to our Golden Circle and Bubble tour tomorrow.

Bless for now.
